Video transcript: Heather Ellis talks about how we build trusting relationships.

Heather Ellis, Deputy Headteacher, The Southover Partnership School

From my point of view I think the name of our organisation, The Southover Partnership School, speaks volumes because we can’t do our job unless we are in partnership with parents, or carer. And the deputy heads are in very close communication on a daily basis with a number of parents or carers. Some of them we see daily, they might be dropping their child off at school, others we keep in touch daily by text, or email or phone calls, and these are for positive news as well as if there has been an incident or cause for concern. But working in partnership is really important; we can’t succeed with the student unless we have that agreement that we are all moving forward in the same direction.
