Southover’s unique because we are totally focussed on the individual with whom we are working, or the group of pupils with whom we are working. We are not trying to get children to jump hurdles in their school life. What we are doing is trying to help children through relentless care to have a faith and a belief in themselves in education that they can learn, and that we can support them in understanding in how they can learn. They may not leave us in the first instance with a whole slew of exams, although many children do. But we have given them an essence and a core of success in education.
