At The Southover Partnership, we offer both in-house and impartial careers advice to our students.

From Y9 onwards, students meet with our Deputy SENCO yearly to discuss their next steps. Through this process, students review their current subject options, qualifications they have achieved and are working towards, their interests and aspirations and possible future pathways including further education, higher education or employment. Between the students, their trusted staff and the Deputy SENCO, an action plan is formulated collaboratively for professional purposes including students’ Annual Review.

The Southover Partnership also engage the services of trained L6 careers advisors and work with Scope, the disability charity. These external personal guidance meetings help guide pupils on their path to success.

The sessions aim to:

  • Make students aware of all the career options and the employment routes open to them
  • Develop students’ career goals and create an action plan to help them achieve them
